AFMC Reorganization Announcement On 3 November 2011, Gen. Donald Hoffman, Commander of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) announced that he is planning to execute a significant Command realignment. The proposed plan consolidates AFMC's lifecycle management mission under a single organization. This new organization, which will be called the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), will be located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.
The AFMC maintenance functions will continue to reside at the three Air Logistics Centers: Hill AFB, Tinker AFB, and Robins AFB, with overall sustainment responsibilities centralized at a new Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) located at Tinker AFB. A copy of Gen. Hoffman's announcement is attached for your review. Although not included in Gen. Hoffman's announcement, we expect that over a period of time, all program management and associate support functions such as contracting, engineering and supply chain management will migrate to the new AFLCMC.
Although this significant realignment proposed by AFMC will still need the approval of Congress, we are well positioned to support you and your company through the transition of this initiative, in the event that it receives approval. For nearly 40 years, we have maintained offices adjacent to both Wright Patterson AFB, OH and Tinker AFB, OK. Additionally, we will continue to maintain offices at all of our current AFMC locations through this transition period. We will continue to provide you with periodic updates of this initiative upon receipt. Please contact us should you have any questions or require additional information regarding this potential AFMC realignment.
