Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI) is a full service marketing, consulting, and customer support company that was originally established in 1972 by a group of former U.S. Air Force (USAF) career logisticians, pilots, aircraft maintenance experts, and industry supply chain specialists.

We have expanded beyond the traditional U.S. defense business to include client support for winning business with several Government agencies and commercial businesses. As LSI has evolved and grown, we have developed an enviable reputation as a reliable partner with both Government and commercial customers.

Our extensive cadre of consultants has an average of 26 years of procurement and business development experience, many being retired Department of Defense (DOD) officers and leaders. These consultants are strategically positioned at key locations to best support our clients.

Corporate headquarters are in Layton, Utah, south of Hill Air Force Base and the Ogden Air Logistics Center. Today, we have strategically located offices and consultants throughout the United States to provide maximum on site coverage at every major DOD aerospace procurement center.

Our consultants have established an excellent rapport with key Government decision-makers and understand the complexity of Government procurement. LSI is careful about selecting and representing clients that will provide the best value to the Government.

Through regular interface with customers, we have been successful in identifying potential requirements well in advance of the release of official solicitations. In collaboration with our clients, we thoroughly analyze these business opportunities and develop a strategy to win those programs, which are determined to be of vital interest. Prior to the actual release of the solicitation, we acquire and provide our clients with essential marketing information and technical data required for a successful proposal.

Mergers and Acquisitions

In 2003, LSI acquired Kendall & Associates, Inc. (K&A), a privately held consulting firm. K&A was a highly respected defense aerospace consulting firm headquartered in Warner Robins, Georgia, with field offices located in Dayton, Ohio; Huntsville, Alabama; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Pensacola, Florida; and Ft. Worth, Texas. The K&A acquisition has significantly expanded LSI’s business with the United States DOD.

In 2004, LSI acquired Aerospace Support Technologies, Inc. (AST), a privately held maintenance logistics firm. AST has provided logistics support to the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill AFB, Utah, since 1989. The company employs approximately 75 people located onsite at Hill AFB.

For over 17 years, AST has served the Government with distinction, providing Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) and General Support Equipment (GSE) at the Ogden, Sacramento, and Warner Robins Air Logistics Centers. AST provides a wide variety of services supporting aircraft and missile readiness requirements.

In 2006, LSI acquired Shipley Associates, a global leader in business development consulting and training. Shipley is known for helping companies win business through effective capture management, proposal development, and sales training. Founded in 1972, Shipley has over 140 consultants that work with clients on strategic proposals to Government and commercial customers.
